great expectations.. the title itself is significant..

as i'm writing it, there's nick cave and the bad seeds performing 'into my arms' on the radio (one of the most beautiful songs i know - expect in class soon:))..

the movie's a film adaptation of charles dickens' novel, but it's set in the usa at the end of the 20th century.. yeah, when you had that routine of going to kindergarten..:)

back to the film.. aesthetically, it's one of the best movies i've ever seen.. although the plot's weak at times, for some reason it's a feature i watch every now and then.. the awesome sketches and paintings used in the film plus fantastically chosen songs and the music composed to emphasise the emotions of the main character played by ethan hawke are overwhelming.. all this makes one/me want to leave europe behind and start again with a clean slate.. where? in the usa!

to my mind, the character played by gwyneth paltrowh has always seemed to portray a girl of a gun, if you know what i mean.. but, as axl rose sang: 'life's a bitch' so no one should be surprised.. still believe, the romantic way the things should happen feels'n'is more alright-er...
